Duri Hong draw pictures that make you laugh by mixing wit into the everyday landscape you see around you, or another person you know from the news, movies, books, etc. media. If you look closely at my paintings, everyone is smiling, and you might think they don’t look real, but I think things can turn into gratitude and joy, depending on what I hope for and what I’m going to do. I hope it will be a picture of someone who is tired or looking for warmth in the world that gets darker and harder.
