본 시리즈는 보석을 고정하는 부차적 구조물로 인식되어 온 ‘난집’을 조형의 중심으로 전환하고자 한 프로젝트이다. 난집의 조형성과 자율성에 주목하여 보석 없이 제작된 9점의 반지를 통해 위계의 전복, 기능의 상실, 조형 요소의 독립이라는 세 가지 시각적 전략을 실험하고자 한다. 이는 기능적 구조물이 조형적 주체로 존재할 수 있는 가능성을 탐구하며, 주체와 보조 간의 경계를 허물고 주얼리에 대한 고정된 인식을 전복하는 새로운 시각을 제안한다.

This project seeks to reposition the gem setting—a structural element traditionally regarded as a subordinate support for gemstones—as the central subject of form. By focusing on the setting itself, the pieces were intentionally created without gemstones. Through this, the project explores how a functional component can exist as a sculptural entity, offering a renewed perspective on jewellery.
