분열 생식은 이분법 또는 재생 능력을 의미한다. 몸이 반으로 잘리면 각각의 조각이 머리와 꼬리를 새로 만들어 두 개의 개체가 되는 아메바나 세균을 예시로 들 수 있다. 사물은 생명체가 아니기 때문에 사물이 분열생식을 하기 위해서는 외부의 개입이 필요하다. 단순한 복구가 아닌, 분열된 사물이 본래의 기능성을 다른 방식으로 재생시킬 수 있도록 도와주는 것이 디자이너의 역할이며, 이를 작품과 전시로 풀어내고자 한다.

Division reproduction is the ability to split and regenerate, as seen in amoebas or bacteria that form two new individuals when divided. Objects lack this ability and need external intervention. The designer’s role is not just to repair, but to help broken objects regain function in new ways—a concept this project and exhibition seek to explore.
