올해의 아트디렉터 브렌든이 제작한 포스터는 2024 SDF의 주제인 ‘게임체인저: 판을 바꾸는 디자인’을 비주얼로 해석해 주었습니다.
포스터에 활용된 매킨토시, 미하엘 토네트의 의자와 픽토그램, 어니 프레이즈가 발명한 링풀텝 캔, 소니의 워크맨, 클립, 고려 금속활자 등은 단순히 아름다운 디자인이 아니라 우리의 일상을 변화시키고 삶에 새로운 의미와 질서를 부여한 것입니다.
아주 혁신적인 발명에서부터 우리가 무심코 사용했던 일상의 생필품, 무형의 시각적 요소, 심지어 자연물까지도 이러한 범위에 포함되어 에너제틱한 그라데이션 기법과 함께 다채로운 비주얼의 포스터가 탄생했습니다.
브렌든은 비주얼를 통해 관람객이 게임체인징의 과정을 떠올리며 체화하고, 더욱 폭넓고 입체적인 관점에서 디자인을 바라볼 수 있기를 기대하며 포스터를 만들었다고 합니다.

SEOUL DESIGN FESTIVAL 2024
We are sharing the poster files for the 23rd Seoul Design Festival.
Created by this year’s art director Brendan, the poster offers a visual interpretation of the SDF 2024 theme, ‘Game Changer: Design That Changes the Game.’
The objects featured in the poster, including the Macintosh, Michael Thonet’s chair and pictograms, the ring-pull tab can invented by Ermal Fraze, Sony’s Walkman, the paper clip, and Goryeo metal movable type, are not merely beautiful designs but things that transformed our daily lives and gave them new meaning and order.
This scope extends from truly groundbreaking inventions to everyday necessities we use without a second thought, intangible visual elements and even objects from nature, all brought together with an energetic gradient technique to create a poster of rich and varied visuals.
Brendan says he created the poster in the hope that, through its visuals, visitors would recall and internalize the process of game-changing and come to see design from a broader, more multidimensional perspective.
